A standing, self-assisted cross-body shoulder stretch performed through controlled entry-and-return movements without a sustained end-position hold. It focuses on the back of the shoulder without external weights.
Stand comfortably upright with your shoulders relaxed.
Bring one arm across your chest and support its upper arm with the opposite hand or forearm.
Gently guide the arm across, then release and return smoothly without a prolonged pause.
Repeat the planned number of controlled cycles and perform the same work on the other side.
Apply light assistance to the upper arm rather than pulling at the wrist or pressing on the elbow.
Keep the trunk still; use a comfortable range rather than bouncing into the end position.
Count one approach-and-return as one repetition for that arm; the edited demonstration is not a prescribed exercise dose.
Bouncing or yanking the arm across the chest.
Rotating the trunk instead of moving the shoulder.
Shrugging the working shoulder toward the ear.
Forcing the movement through sharp pain, pinching or numbness.
