A standing trunk-rotation exercise with a barbell supported across the upper back. This version shows a smaller controlled turn than the related full-range demonstration. It can be the easier variation of this pair while still requiring a steady stance and controlled movement.
Stand with a stable stance and support the barbell across the upper back as shown.
Keep the trunk braced and turn it only through the smaller range demonstrated in the video.
Return to the center under control and repeat to the other side without swinging the barbell.
Keep the rotation deliberately shorter than the related full-range variation.
Choose a load that allows the feet and pelvis to remain steady.
Swing the barbell and turn farther than the demonstrated partial range.
Let the pelvis or knees twist abruptly instead of controlling the trunk turn.
